Hello Hockey Edmonton Family,
We have some great news to share!
City Council has approved a plan to open five arenas (12 sheets of ice) tomorrow and more to follow, based on demand. We appreciate both Council’s approval and the quick work by City Administration to get these rinks open to serve our membership of almost ten thousand as well as the other arena user groups.
Both City and Alberta Health officials are placing their trust in all of us - parents, players and team officials - to abide by the rules and ensure the safety of all as we take our kids back to the rinks. As such, the City has a new set of guidelines for the arenas, including closing the stands to spectators. The complete details can be found on our website.
The arenas to open February 11 are:
Terwillegar
Callingwood
Castledowns
The Meadows
Kinsmen
The arenas to open February 16, subject to demand, are:
Clareview
Mill Woods
There may be more arenas opened later if demand warrants such action.
Thanks for your support and cooperation as we get the players back on the ice!
